How to hide mates in onShape?

Method 1: Press K

To hide mates in Onshape, press the K key.

Method 2: Using the Feature List

  1. Go to the Feature List (left-hand side of your Part Studio or Assembly tab).

  2. Find the Mates folder — usually labeled as "Mates" or a specific mate like Mate 1, Mate 2, etc.

  3. Click the eye icon 👁️ next to the mate or the Mates folder.

    • This toggles visibility: eye open = visible, eye closed = hidden.

Method 3: In the Graphics Area (Assembly context)

  1. In the graphics area, hover over the mate connector (it looks like a small circle or symbol where parts are mated).
  2. Right-click the mate icon.
  3. Select "Hide" from the context menu.
